10 Things to Do in Your KRUU Portal Before Your Event (Seriously, Don't Skip #7)

You booked the booth. Exciting! Now there's one thing a surprising number of customers skip until it's almost too late, and it causes way more stress than it needs to: actually setting up your customer portal. The KRUU customer portal is where all the important stuff lives: your delivery address, your photo designs, layouts, your event details. Get it sorted early and your rental will feel completely effortless.

Here are the 10 things to check off in your portal, in order, starting today!

1. Log in the same day you book.

You'll get a portal access email right after booking. Click it today. Spend five minutes clicking around and getting familiar with where things live. Future you will be so grateful.

2. Double-check your delivery address.

Your booth ships to exactly the address displayed in the KRUU customer portal. Make sure it's correct and that UPS can actually deliver to it. NOTE: sometimes UPS has difficulty delivering to apartments and business suites. If you're shipping to a venue, confirm the venue accepts packages 2 to 4 days early.

The screen shows order management sections, including a yellow "Next Step" card for an unpaid order and a detailed shipping status card for a photo booth delivery to a sample address in Faketown, CA. Floating in the top left corner is a fan of two Polaroid-style photos and one photostrip featuring three photos, showing guests and the couple enjoying a wedding and a party. Minimalist green circle doodles add a modern touch to the right.

3. Confirm your event date and return info.

Check that your event date, pickup address, and return date are all accurate. If anything looks off from your original booking, fix it now rather than three days before your event. If anything changes, you can always reach out to our Customer Care team at 833-659-4004.

4. Explore the design templates.

KRUU has hundreds of pre-built templates organized by event type: weddings, birthdays, holidays, corporate events, and more. Browse through them before you commit to one. If you’re the creative type, or want something super special, we can provide you a Canva template to create your own custom designs! Your guests will see this design on every single printed strip, so it's worth spending a few minutes finding one you genuinely love.

5. Pick your layout.

Your layout controls how photos are arranged on the print: one big image, two side by side, a classic three-photo strip, a four-photo grid. Think about how many shots you want per session and how big you want each image to appear. Premium package customers can choose two layouts and switch between.

6. Add your custom text.

Most templates let you add personalized text: names, event date, a short phrase. The difference between a generic photo and a keepsake that says "Emma and James, June 14, 2025" is about two minutes of your time. Absolutely worth it.

7. Submit your design at least 7 days before your booth SHIPS (not before your event).

This is the one that trips people up most often. The deadline is 7 days before your booth ships, and the booth ships usually 2 to 4 days before your event. So if your event is Saturday, your booth might ship Tuesday, which means you need your design finalized the Tuesday before that.

Do the math now. Set a phone reminder. If you're not sure of your ship date, email support-us@kruu.com and we'll confirm it.

8. Watch the setup videos.

You should watch them before the day of your event, not while 50 guests are standing around waiting. The booth really does set up in about 5 to 10 minutes, but watching the video once means there won't be guessing about anything when the moment comes.

9. Watch the repack video too.

Yes, this is different from setup. Repacking isn't as obvious as unpacking. Watch this one in advance, and when your booth arrives, snap a photo of how everything is arranged inside the box. That photo is your roadmap when it's time to pack it back up.

10. Download the KRUU app.

Your post-event gallery lives in the KRUU app (available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store). Download it now, create your account, and share your gallery link with guests in advance so they're ready to access it the moment it goes live. Bonus: some couples project the gallery at a post-wedding brunch the following morning. Super fun touch.

One more thing: test it the day before your event.

Your booth arrives 2 to 4 days early, which means you have time to do a proper test run. Use that time. Set it up, run through a few test photos, print them, and make sure everything looks right. If you spot anything off, you still have time to call us and sort it out.

The customers who have the smoothest KRUU experiences almost always test the day before. The ones who run into trouble almost always set it up the morning of, with no buffer.

Your portal is ready when you are. Go check it off your list.
