Our Story
KRUU was founded in 2016 with a simple but powerful idea: capturing magical moments forever. Since then, we’ve constantly evolved our photo booths for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and beyond. What started in a small office in Germany has grown into an international team with big hearts, creative ideas, and a huge amount of team spirit.
2016
In a small office in Heilbronn, our founders Jochen, Oli, and Philipp turned their vision into reality. The first sketches of the KRUU photo booth took shape, and prototypes were tested right there in the office. It wasn't long before we outgrew the space – because every single booth was being shipped from that one room!
2017
A major milestone. We ventured beyond Germany, launching in Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. As demand soared, so did our team. We moved to a new HQ in Bad Friedrichshall, ready for more space, more teamwork, and new adventures.
2018
No standing still here! We launched the MK3 photo booth with a powerful new flash for even brighter, clearer event photos. We also moved into a larger warehouse to keep up with the thousands of booths heading out to your parties. More space, more power, more magic!
2019
Innovation took centre stage as we added exciting new features, including personalised layouts and creative design tools. We believe unique memories deserve the best, so we made every print customisable to the host's style.
2020 - 2022
2020 started with record bookings, but March brought the pandemic. Events were on hold, and we were hit hard. Thanks to our amazing customers who chose to postpone rather than cancel, we pushed through. By 2022, things weren't quite back to normal, but with flexibility and the "KRUU spirit," we gave it our all.
2023
A huge year for tech! We introduced Live View, allowing guests to see themselves in real-time before the shutter clicks. We also moved into an even larger logistics hub to make our shipping faster and more reliable than ever
2023
We knew how important it was to keep all those memories in one place, so we launched the KRUU App. Guests can now upload their own snaps, like, and share. Best of all? After the event, all the professional booth photos automatically appear in the app too.
2024
A massive leap across the pond! We opened our US office and launched the brand-new MK4 photo booth in the States. With its sleek design and built-in flash, it was an instant hit. The best news for our UK and EU friends? The MK4 arrives here in 2025!
2025
The next chapter of our journey. With our new state-of-the-art warehouse, we’ve optimised our logistics for even more KRUU moments. The MK4 officially lands in Europe, setting a new standard for design. Plus, our new Instant Pic Download lets guests save photos directly to their phones via QR code instantly.
